Apr\u00e8s avoir rappel\u00e9 la sortie frauduleuse des 10 millions de dollars incrimin\u00e9s, il a \u00e9galement tent\u00e9 de d\u00e9montrer l\u2019inad\u00e9quation entre le salaire du pr\u00e9venu et cette somme. Dans sa plaidoirie, l\u2019avocat a soulign\u00e9 que cette somme aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 vers\u00e9e \u00e0 une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9trang\u00e8re \u0153uvrant dans l\u2019humanitaire, sur instruction du chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat de l\u2019\u00e9poque, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Lansana Cont\u00e9. Cependant, selon lui, le pr\u00e9venu n\u2019a fourni aucun document \u00e9crit pour \u00e9tayer cette affirmation, ce qui constitue un d\u00e9tournement de fonds. Il a donc sollicit\u00e9 le remboursement des 10 millions de dollars.
